Field of dreams

This is my new field. It’s going to be my little farm. One day.

My Mum saw the advert in the paper on August 31st and it sounded a bit too good to be true… 10 acres, beside a loch, with old outbuildings, and permission for building a house… We loved it straight away and I called my Dad to see if he’d mind investing some of his money in land. He thought it was a grand plan (yay!) – so it was all go.

It took until December 13th to get all of the paperwork sorted out, but now it’s mine and it’s brilliant!

I’m not often online these days but want to get back to writing regularly to keep my mind working and imagination going. On a long bus journey last weekend I had some new ideas that I’d like to try out; harvesting sea salt, cooking with earthworms, growing horseradish to make a Scottish version of wasabi peas, drying out mint leaves for tea. I’m excited to see what will grow and what I can use it for!
